Barcode Printers

The barcode printer is a computer-operated machine that is used to print barcodes on special paper. The printed barcodes are placed on objects, usually commercial products, and may even serve as tags or identification labels. Furthermore, the barcode printer may be used in large scale manufacturing companies or in small offices and businesses.

The industry-type barcode printer is larger in size compared to the barcode printer being used in small offices and businesses. The industrial-type barcode printer may be utilised for longer periods of time, are faster in printing, and can accommodate paper of varying sizes and quantity. The office and business barcode printer, on the other hand, is small and has a shorter service life. Moreover, it can only accommodate a minimal amount of paper.

The barcode printer has two types. It may either be a thermal transfer printer or a direct thermal printer. When the barcode printer is a thermal transfer printer, it heats an ink ribbon that melts into a waxy substance on the printing paper. If the barcode printer is a direct thermal printer, however, a special printing paper is used. It is heated by a printing pen that turns the surface of the paper black.

Using a Barcode Printer

The barcode printer makes printing of product labels and tags easier and faster. It is most useful when commercial products such as clothes, books, school, and office supplies are being manufactured. Moreover, the barcode printer allows store owners to easily identify and make inventories of the products they sell.

Acquiring a Barcode Printer

A barcode printer may be purchased from the Internet or from stores that sell school and office supplies. On the other hand, the barcode printer may be sold by printer manufacturers in factory outlets.
